The appaloosa is a breed of saddle horse native from the northwest of the United States. The great feature of these horses is that they often have a spotted coat. It generally measures from 1.42 m to 1.65 m at the withers for a weight of 4 to 45 kg. The appaloosa is a horse with a docile and calm character but which is also lively and receptive.
