Native to North America, this mammal is the most imposing of its species after the polar bear. His dark brown dress has shades of blonde, brown and black, but it is the gray end of his hair that gives him his name (from "grizzled" which means graying). This omnivore lives alone and feeds mainly on plants (berries, roots, etc.). However, it sometimes devours fish, ants, bees or young mammals such as elk. In order to last all winter, the grizzly bear feeds intensively all summer, then rejoins its den and hibernates from November to March.
